SUMMARY or LIST of activities planned in 2006: 

Pseudomonas fluorescens transformation with grape genes induced during Armillaria mellea infection: characterization of the biological control properties and the effects on the rhizosphere

  • Bioinformatic analyses of the grape genes induced in Kober 5BB roots during A. mellea infection
  • Validation of defence gene induction in different infection systems (in vivo and in vitro)
  • Amplification, cloning and sequencing of the full-length coding sequences of the genes
  • Genes subcloning in a vector suitable for the expression in E. coli and characterization of antifungal activity of the recombinant proteins
  • Cloning of the most effective defence genes in a vector suitable for expression in Pseudomonas spp., transformation of P. fluorescens and in vitro characterization of the biological control properties of the transgenic P. fluorescens
  • Characterizations of the transgenic P. fluorescens distribution in the soil and its impact on the rhizosphere microorganisms equilibrium (if time left)
