SUMMARY or LIST of activities planned in 2006:

Rational Approaches for the Erwinia amylovora biocontrol

• Confirmation of the results obtained during the spring, inoculating the best isolates directly in flowers on apple plant;
• Population studies monitoring Erwinia amylovora and biocontrol agents development in detached apple flowers;
• Construction and selection of Waed 2.1 and Jan1 F12 mutants to investigate their mechanisms of action;
• Individuation and analysis of the gene/genes involved in the biocontrol activity;
• Accurate identification of both the strains;
