Pestcon is a program that provides strawberry growers and the IASMA extension service personnel treatments recommendations during the strawberry growing cycle.
The recommendations are issued on the basis of a decision model system developed by Dani Shtienberg of the Volcani Center in Israel. The recommendation for action is the final output of the program; this is a sum of several severity values resulting in a risk index for strawberry powdery mildew. The information required for running the system are provided by the grower at the beginning on each cycle, then the decision-making procedure run automatically by the program. Pestcon provide the IASMA extension service personnel a useful way to collect field data during the strawberry growing cycle in order to analyze it later and conclude about the optimal treatment plan for each growing cycle.
