SUMMARY of the project:

• Mass production of Trichoderma sp. spores.
• Spore encapsulation in sodium alginate matrix.
• Evaluation of spore survival in this alginate matrix.

Aim:

To carry out a new formulation of the BCA Thichoderma sp. using sodium alginate matrix that entraps and shields the microorganism from environmental stress.

Milestone:

• Production test of alginate small spheres.
• Defined a protocol for Trichoderma sp. spores mass production.
• Set up spore encapsulation method with sodium alginate matrix.
• Verify the viability of Tricoderma after encapsulation, during time (1, 7, 30 days).
• Carrying out a feasibility study (production cost and commercial).
• In Field trial (in preparation).
