• Sequence analysis of the autoinducer-2 (AI-2) luxS gene in a global collection of E. amylovora strains.
• Development of luxS mutants and a luxS reporter strain of E. amylovora.
• Phenotypic characterization of luxS mutants under abiotic conditions.
• Genotypic characterization of luxS mutants under abiotic conditions.
• Effect of luxS mutation on E. amylovora flower colonization and virulence.
