BIOSTRAW: Evaluating select microorganisms for use as biocontrol agents against strawberry powdery mildew
Brief description of the research project:
Characterizing selected microorganisms and their potential for use as biocontrol agents against strawberry powdery mildew.
Main used techniques:
Culture and characterization of microorganisms on laboratory media, greenhouse applications of individual microorganisms in liquid solution, evaluating the effects of individual microorganisms on pathogen germination and disease severity.
Future research development:
Selection of microorganism(s) for use in an integrated disease management system, identification of optimal formulation and application timings.
